EPSO has confirmed that AD5 2026 selection is split into two stages: the three reasoning tests come first in October–November 2026, and EU Knowledge, Digital Skills and the EUFTE essay follow in the first half of 2027 — only for candidates who pass Stage 1.

All tests are taken remotely via the TAO platform. The EUFTE essay (free-text) is sat in the second stage (Part 2) in 2027, together with the EU Knowledge and Digital Skills tests — only for candidates who pass the Stage 1 reasoning tests.
Minimum vs. Realistic Qualifying Score
The official minimums eliminate the weakest candidates. The realistic qualifying threshold — the score you actually need to advance — is significantly higher, based on the competitiveness of comparable AD competitions.

What is the pass score for EPSO AD5?
The stated minimums are: Verbal Reasoning 10/20, EU Knowledge 15/30, Digital Skills 20/40, and Numerical+Abstract combined 10/20. However, only the highest-ranking candidates who pass all minimums advance — in practice the qualifying bar is significantly higher.
Can I still apply for EPSO AD5 2026?
No. The application deadline for EPSO/AD/427/26 was 10 March 2026 and is now closed. Candidates who applied are waiting for test invitations via their EPSO account.
What is the TAO platform used in EPSO tests?
TAO (Testing Assisté par Ordinateur) is the browser-based platform used for all EPSO computer-based tests. It has a specific layout with a timer, flagging system, and on-screen calculator. Practising in a TAO-like environment before exam day is strongly recommended.
